Stopped in for Brunch, waited 20 minutes until I finally grabbed at staff member asking for service. The food came timely but was below par. Sausage and bacon was good. Fried potatoes was horrible had that right of the can taste. Butter was put on cold toast and served that way. Waiting another 20 minutes for check. Won't be returning anytime soon. The food was a real mixed bag. You can tell that 99% of the food comes directly from Wagner's food distribution.

We went to Mikie's on Memorial Day at about 10AM. We knew it would be busy, and we expected to wait. We found a seat immediately, but got no attention after that. Several customers who entered after us were seated, given menus, and received their drinks. Until that point, we still hadn't received our menus, or had our drink orders taken, so we left. It seems that the only two waitresses on duty were overwhelmed, and I didn't have any problem waiting. But customers should be served in relation to when they arrive. Otherwise, it appears as if you are just ignoring us.

Back in the day, there was a book called VideoHound that reviewed all movies available on VHS. It's criteria for evaluation included a phrase by which I continue to live: Don't compare Godfather II to Weekend at Bernie's II. If you compare Mikie's to other cheap diners, it will deliver. It was 100% what I expected and for the right price. Two exceptions. Potatoes were just OK, but offset by fact they were clearly cut recently. The coffee, however, was surprisingly good. Tobasco already at table; big plus for me. Basically, there are some days you need eggs, coffee, and to be honestly address as Hon. It's a 3.5, but I rounded up for Hon.

Today might have been the most frustrating visit that I've had to a restaurant in years. My family (myself, my wife, 3 year old and 1 year old) and I arrived at approximately 5:45pm on a Wednesday night. The place had a moderate amount of people in there (~60% capacity), but nothing close to busy. As the sign directed us when we entered, we seated ourselves in a booth. After about 5 minutes of sitting there and having two female waitresses walk by our table on several occasions, a gentleman came to our table, told us someone would be right with us and took our drink order. He was pretty efficient in bringing us our drinks, as they were out in about 2 minutes. Then we waited, and waited, and waited, and waited. Nothing. We had a waitress walk right by our booth about 10 minutes after we got our drinks. She made eye contact with us and proceed to the booth next to us. Not even a "hello" or "I'll be right with you." Nothing. After waiting about another couple minutes my wife waived to the same waitress in a "come on over" motion, but apparently the waitress couldn't understand what that went and she went on her merry little way. After a total of 20 minutes of waiting and looking around to find out lots of people didn't have anything in front of them in the way of food, I called it a night and headed out to the Friendly's up the street. I'll be honest, the only reason I was there was because there was a Groupon and I'm always open for trying out new restaurants in the area. Unfortunately, this place failed miserably. The inside wasn't very clean and with the exception of the gentleman who brought us drinks, the staff there seemed to be in their own little world. Unfortunately, I can't speak to the quality of the food there, but no matter how good it may be, it sure isn't worth the wait. Save yourself some time. Don't waste your time coming here.

Really unhappy with the quality, quantity and price of the clam strips as well as the customer service we received today. The clam strips were mostly breading and the quantity was half the size they use to serve. Their website has the clam strips priced at $2.95 but they charged us $6.31 per order. When we asked why they said they don't do much with their website anymore and the price online wasn't current. No apologies for it either. We will not be returning.

I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time was good. The restaurant wasn't busy and we had a great waitress. The second time was frustrating. The food wasn't bad but we had a groupon deal and the waitress was unfriendly and basically ignored us after we told her that. She took our order, delivered it, and then never came back. Whenever it was time for us to pay there was a woman in front of us and when she finished, the cashier walked away. She clearly saw us standing there but ignored us. Multiple other workers looked directly at us and never said a word. I don't plan on returning after that.

My wife and I have been coming here for a few years, but here lately the service and food quality have gone down. This morning we stopped in for breakfast and, with less then 10 people in the place, it still took 10 min for our server to come to us. Once we ordered drinks and my wife got her coffee, things got worse as there was lipstick on the coffee mug. Our food arrived and my wife had asked for scrambled hard eggs; they came out runny. She also asked for crispy bacon. The bacon came out limp and under cooked. The plate was sent back to have have the corrections made. They were not as the plate was tossed in a microwave and re served to her. So this will be our last trip to this establishment. And it is a shame since my wife and her family have been coming here for years.

The sign reads voted best breakfast in town. I want to know who voted. This was the worst food we have ever had. Waitress was nice enough but does not make up for the horrible food. I was asked if I wanted onions and green peppers in my home fries. Well they were there a couple of cold pieces chopped cold on top of canned sliced potatoes. Wow, the chipped beef was nothing but a few pieces of so called meat and flour. Coffee was Luke warm. Place could use a good cleaning. I assume the reason the fans weren't on due to the 2" of dust on them. Shame because it's a cute little place. As far as a restaurant. It would suit better as extra parking for I Hop up the road. Doesn't even deserve one star.

We bought a groupon for burgers, fries and shakes. The shakes where good but that's all I can say. The burgers, the kids got, are nothing more then BJ's or Costco burgers so they where pretty bland. I ordered sausage and peppers over ziti. The noodles where reheated I guess because they where dried out and hard (like break a tooth hard). My husband got fish and chips (again Costco) and he asked for tarter sauce and had to ask 2 times before it finally came (took 10 minutes). Did I mention we where the waitresses only table. The cook kept coming out talking the regulars (which is nice) except he thought it was appropriate to very loudly drop the F bomb several times with my kids 5 feet away. This place is NOT worth the trip or money. McDonalds would be a better choice!!!!!

The one star is because the service we received was spot on. The waitress was very friendly and polite. Now the food, worst food we have had in a while. I ordered the hot turkey with fries. The gravy was bland, I can't even say it was canned, because that would have more flavor. The turkey, cold and flavorless. My husband ordered NC barbecue, before he even ordered, I knew he would be disappointed. The sandwich tasted like it was pre-packaged with some spicy bbq sauce added to it. The baked beans, definitely from a can with some ham and onions thrown in. If you are looking for food from a can, this is your place.

I've been here twice now. The first time was for lunch on 7/3 and then again for breakfast on 7/4. The first problem is that the sign says PLEASE SEAT YOURSELF which sounds fine at first but turns into a problem because the wait staff doesn't see you or acknowledge for quite some time when you seat yourself. Next, the service on both occasions was poor at best. During my lunch visit, the manager had to take my order, clean my table, refill my drink, and serve me my food. Not terrible but it seemed like he was doing more than his wait staff. The kitchen also messed up my side order which instead of correcting in the kitchen, he brought out to me to see if I wanted. I told him No and not to worry about bringing the correct side. My breakfast experience was even worse. It took over 5min to have someone greet me and take my drink order and that was only after another couple was seated next to me and had their order taken first. When the food came out, my food order was given to the couple and before they realized it, they had started to dig in. The waitress realized it but it was too late. She apologized to him and offered to make him the right order but he said he'd eat what was there. The waitress then turned to me and asked me if I still I wanted my order. In my opinion, it sounded like she was asking me if I wanted what the other guy had ordered so nothing would go to waste. I told her I wanted what I had ordered. So, it was back to waiting. The waitress then brought out my home fries and toast but no omelet. Then shortly after that she comes out and says that my omelet is ready but she has to go pick it up but then proceeds to take three other orders before going back to get my omelet. She finally brings my omelet which was just okay. In the 45min that it took to get and eat my food, my drink was only refilled once. They did discount my bill a little bit but that was coupled with three separate comments from waitress about how she had to pay for the discounts out of her own pocket. All in all, the service here is below average and the food is just average. I don't think I'll be returning or recommending Mikie's to anyone in the near future.

If we get here early enough in the morning, the experience is good. Usually get eggs w bacon & grits. Or an egg sandwich w tomato n mayo. Fast service w a smile. Don't have to ask for anything. Once or twice got the chicken fried steak. Last time we ordered that, the white gravy was bland, unseasoned & the flour in the rue was not cooked enough so the gravy basically tasted like flour. We haven't been back since then, but I'm sure we'll give it another try soon enough; as We've had more good experiences there than bad...

When you see the cook grab a box of aunt jemima pancake mix to make your pancakes you know you are in trouble. Service was good so 1 star for that. Scrambled eggs were raw and made us question what eggs did to the cook. Pancakes from a box and then charged $7 for 3 of them with the poor poor eggs. I do not understand the appeal of this place at all. I would recommend ihop before this place!

We came for breakfast, about 11am. We saw the signs for "best breakfast in town" and thought we couldn't go wrong. There were about 3 other tables at the time, so, it wasn't busy at all. It took a considerable amount of time just for the waitress to walk over to us. It took even longer to get some coffee. As a daily coffee drinker, I was saddened when it gave me horrible heart burn. My husband ordered sort of sandwich, I only remember the lack of really anything inside, and I most remember the side of chips. I remember this because it was about 10 crumbs on a saucer, not kidding. There was a very small pile of crumbs in the middle of this tiny plate. My husband asked the waitress that she bring out more chips. The chips didn't arrive until he was done with his sandwich. I had the French toast. Not anything special to note- I just remember it was very dry. The most upsetting part of our visit was when another customer came in to pick up her carryout order. From what I understood, she had called in a while ago, and her order hadn't even been started yet. She sat down at a table to wait. About 10 mins later she asked the waitress when she thought her order would be done. The waitress became irate. She screamed across the restaurant to the customer that she was going to have to wait, and if she didn't want to wait then she should just leave. The customer then became upset at the waitress and her escalation of the situation and said that this was ridiculous because she called ahead. The waitress then proceeded to throw the customer out of the restaurant. There was absolutely no reason for it. The customer was in no way rude, and I believe she had every right to ask when her food would be done. We all then listened in disbelief as the waitress carried on and on, saying (yelling) uncalled for and extremely rude garbage about this customer after she left. She was telling all of her co workers about this rude customer, and even made up a few things that the customer "said" as she ranted. It was obvious that she wanted the whole establishment to hear her story, even though we were all there and she was lying. It was beyond unprofessional and very childish. We had already finished our food, and waited about 30 mins for our plates to be cleared. Another 15 for the check. I'll never be back to support this place. I honestly don't know how it has survived this long.

We came for breakfast and the service was nice but the food was not what I would consider unique or particularly delicious. My friend got the egg sandwich and was a bit more impressed, but I would say this is a place to get food you can make at home, if you just don't have the will to do it yourself. On a more exciting note, their cakes and pies look very good and they will bake to order for birthdays, etc.

I just wish the waitstaff would remain more visible to their customers. Each time I've been their, I see the waitress when she's taking my order and when she's delivering my food and check. If I want anything else, I'm totally out of luck because she's nowhere to be found. The only exception is a smaller older lady who tends to remain in the dinning area and at times, help her co-workers customers in their never ending absence. I hope they are grateful and are at least sharing the tips with her. A few times my waitress came out serve food to another table then turn and left keeping her head down careful not to look around to see who might need something. Once I was even calling out to her, but I guess she didn't hear me. Funny, that other waitress I mentioned heard me, seen her take off and came over to see what I needed. More than once in separate occasions she's came over to mine and other tables because her co-worker could not be found. Today I was waiting several minutes at the cash register waiting to pay my bill because the one tending it was nowhere to be found. I know that one good waitress is frustrated, but she is careful not to show it. I don't blame her. Despite having to pick up the slack, she remains polite and handles these situations very professionally She should be commended for her excellent service. Give her a raise, she's what kept me and I'm sure others coming back.

I totally forgot about this place for a decade or so. But it's still there in Glen Burnie. Mikie's is a solid local joint with good breakfast at equally good prices. The chipped beef and country fried steak both will fill you right up. The hash browns are drizzled with paprika and will come with onions and peppers if you like; they're tasty but could use longer on the grill to my taste. The staff and customers are 100% pure Maryland goodness, with lots of "hons" and other sundry Ballmerese thrown in. Service is quite friendly, but not quick. Looks like they do a solid carryout business for lunch, and ice cream in the evenings.

I wish I had read the tips and reviews before sitting down. Husband and I did not bother staying after being ignored and 3 other tables were waited on (who arrived after we did). I would not bother trying again. We went to Honey Bee's instead.

We have been here many times. Good food and good prices. If you want to go to a local place, I recommend going here.

Signs say best breakfast in town, it was misleading. My fiancé and I went there for the first time for breakfast. It is seat yourself but it took awhile for someone to great us. We both ordered omelets with dry toast, and I ordered a side of turkey bacon. We waited about 30-40 minutes for our breakfast. Meanwhile a couple that came at the same time as us was done eating before we even got Our food. When it finally came they forgot my side of turkey bacon and then the server said they put butter on our toast, but they would be right back with some dry toast. They dropped the food and ran so we were not able to let me know about the side. The toast also never came instead we saw three people get their breakfast with toast. The next time we saw our server was to drop the check.
